Parks Near

The Station at Lyndhurst

There’s just something about living near a lot of open-air green spaces that can really change the way we feel about our home. Having over-the-top amenities in your apartment — like stainless steel appliances, wood-style flooring, an in-home washer and dryer, and stunning Manhattan skyline views, which we offer — is only enhanced by easy access to multiple oases to stretch your legs and get some fresh air. Here are some of our favorite parks near our Lyndhurst apartments.

Riverside County Park

What isn’t to love about 85 level acres of outdoor space? If being active outside is your jam, this is where you’ll want to head. There are plenty of pedestrian walkways that are ideal for just getting out for a long, leisurely walk or run. But if you’re feeling a little sportier, designated athletic areas abound. There are baseball and softball fields, tennis and bocce courts, and even a fitness center. Just want an effortless afternoon outdoors? No problem. Pack up a lunch and take advantage of picnicking areas scattered throughout.

Richard W. Dekorte Park

If you’re all about the views, this is the spot that will keep you coming back again and again. With the New York City skyline as your backdrop, you can’t ask for a more dramatic landscape for your afternoon outside. Wend your way along more than 3 miles of walking paths that cut through the wetlands, marshes, and uplands, and just enjoy the full immersion in nature you’ll experience. There are nearly 300 different species of birds that have been identified in the Meadowlands District this park calls home, so it’s going to take some time before you have a chance to see them all. Grab your binoculars and start exploring!

Liberty State Park

A little more of an “urban-style” park, this one sits at the edge of the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal. Come here for the stunning waterfront views of the Hudson River that you can enjoy while enjoying a waterside picnic. Also, particularly during the warmer months, this park is home to a plethora of outdoor performances. (Who doesn’t love a good music performance outside?) Oh, and this is also the only place in New Jersey you can catch a ferry to both Ellis Island and Liberty Island.
